Senara Restaurant to Host Charity Dinner with 5 of Cornwall’s Top Chefs in Aid of Hospitality Action

FIVE @ SENARA

Restaurants and suppliers to the hospitality industry have teamed up with FIVE of Cornwall’s top chefs and Senara Restaurant at Penwith College to offer a one off charity dinner on Friday 30th June, with all profits to be donated to Hospitality Action.

Established in 1837 Hospitality Action, offers vital assistance to all who work, or have worked within hospitality in the UK, and who find themselves in crisis. The Charity’s work has helped support people suffering from illness, experiencing poverty, bereavement, domestic violence and many other life altering challenges.

Chef’s supporting the event include; Tom Brown from Outlaws at the Capital, Stephane Delourme from The Seafood Restaurant, Jude Kereama from Kota Restaurant, Guy Owen from Idle Rocks and patisserie chef Stuart Pate from the Seafood Restaurant. Those lucky enough to book a ticket will enjoy the rare opportunity to sample a course from each chef, experiencing food that has established their restaurants as top places to dine throughout Cornwall and beyond.

John Keast from Scarlets wines has joined the line-up, to provide guests with an opportunity to enjoy a wine menu that has been perfectly matched to each course.

The list of big names in Cornwall’s hospitality industry doesn’t stop there. Sam’s Cornwall will be serving mojitos and mini Sam Lamb burgers on oil drum BBQ’s to guests on arrival from one of their iconic vans, and Baker Toms will be preparing and baking all bread for the event on site. Polgoon, Keltek Brewery, Secret Orchard Cider and Yallah Coffee join Scarlet wines to offer an unrivalled range of drinks that will showcase some of the very best products Cornwall has to offer.

This unique event and worthy cause has also attracted national attention from catering equipment supplier Nisbets, who have kindly offered to donate all of the crockery and glass wear needed to make the event possible with the help and generosity of Churchill’s fine china. Masquerade Music will also be performing throughout the evening, ensuring the atmosphere is fitting of the first class food and stunning views of St Michaels Mount.

We have also been provided with long rustic plank tables and chairs from Baya hire wedding and event hire specialists based in Devon and specially designed lighting by Uneeka homewares who specialise in home, restaurant and bar design.

As well as offering an unrivalled experience to guests, the event is a huge opportunity for hospitality students at the College who will be working alongside the line-up of chefs and running front of house.

Jaime Gaspare, head of professional cookery at Penwith College said: “This charity evening will be the crescendo to the work that we have done with the students this year. We have great relationships with local chefs and suppliers and are delighted that so many of them have come out to support this event. Catering for such a prestigious occasion will be an experience for students working both in the kitchen with the professional chefs and for those front of house. We train our students to the highest of industry standards and so I have no hesitation in believing they will exceed everyone’s expectations.”

Tickets for all FIVE courses are priced at £70, with the optional wine matching menu priced at an additional £25. Spaces are limited and booking is strongly advised, to do so telephone 01736 335114 or visit www.truro-penwith.ac.uk/fivesenara to view the menu and further details.
