Robert started cooking under the influence and guidance of his mother as a boy. His interest was further nurtured at school. After training in Torquay, Rob went off to work in London at the London Hilton, he then headed abroad to further expand his experience and knowledge, notably, spending 10 years in Bermuda, cooking at the Castle Harbour Hotel.

Robert has been mentoring Young chefs for over 10 years, coaching and advising successful, national competition winners and finalists. He has a keen interest in promoting the catering industry for young people, giving cooking demonstrations in schools and judging competitions for young chefs. He also gives classes on how to butcher and cook venison. His weekly cooking demonstrations encompassing all manner of nationalities and styles are always popular too.

In his spare time, Robert is an avid hunter, enjoying deer stalking and, gathering natural produce to either cook or preserve.
