Paula Wrangles – Freelance Chef

Paula Wrangles square

I started my career as a chef working for “THF group”as a Commis and worked for various 4 star hotels within the group at various stages. I was very competitive and ambitious whilst working in the West End and won various gold awards at Hotelympia & other competitions around the country at a very young age to gain both respect and recognition within the industry, as at the time it was very rare to have a female working in the kitchen!

After working too many split shifts, I digressed and spent a number of years with a leading food specialist “Leathams Larder “in London and reached the title of Sales Manager within my first two years. I looked after an elite group of accounts within the catering sector which included Lloyds of London, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, to name but a few.

Then taking a catering managers role with Avenance in the city, which was very challenging. I gained an enormous amount of knowledge working very closely with the development chef Rob Kirby assisting the team of chefs in their competition work for Hotelympia which holds a special place in my heart.

Finally I decided to take a break from the life in the uk with my new son & husband and spent 8 wonderful years living “ la  vie “ in France.  To which I continued my journey in food gaining valuable knowledge from a Michelin star Chef at Chateau de la Cazine in central France.

Now I am back on the south coast after taking the hard decision to come back to the UK and am actively looking to pick up my career . I have a real passion for food and love to learn all about the new techniques but also to retain my classical training and teach others my knowledge which I have gained over the years in my varied career.
