BEFORE SETTING UP CLEVER CHEFS NICK WAS THE REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT CHEF FOR A LARGE NATIONAL CATERING COMPANY HELPING LOOK AFTER THE FOOD OFFER WITH A 50 MILLION POUND TURNOVER.

NICK DECIDED TO LAUNCH CLEVER CHEFS AS HE SAW A GAP IN THE MARKET FOR FUN AND ELEGANT EVENT FOOD, “EVERY WEDDING OR LARGE CORPORATE EVENT YOU ATTEND IS ALWAYS THE SAME FUNCTION STYLE FOOD THAT NEVER EXCITES OR CAN PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE, SO I THOUGHT IT WAS TIME TO BRING SOMETHING TO THE EVENT BUSINESS” SAID NICK.

NICK CATERED FOR HIGH PROFILE CLIENTS WHERE HE WAS LOOKING AFTER CELEBRITIES IN THE MILLIONAIRE PLAYGROUND OF COURCHEVEL 1850 IN THE RHÔNE ALPS AND WHEN HE WORKED ON THE PRIVATE SUPER YACHT OF PAUL ALLEN FOUNDER OF MICROSOFT PLC.

NICK HAS WON MANY AWARDS FOR HIS CREATIVE COOKING OVER THE YEARS AND APPEARED ON MASTERCHEF THE PROFESSIONALS IN 2008 WHERE HE REACHED THE SEMI FINALS.

NICK IS VERY HANDS ON AND STILL COOKS AT THE WEDDINGS AND EVENTS AS WELL AS RUNNING TWO VERY SUCCESSFUL RESTAURANTS CALLED THE PICKLED RADISH BASED IN CARDIFF & BRIDGEND.

NICK IS A TRUE AMBASSADOR OF LOCAL PRODUCE AND EVEN THOUGH THE COMPANY IS SPREAD OVER TWO LOCATIONS AND WOULD BE EASIER TO GET THINGS IN ONE PLACE, HE STILL PREFERS TO NOT SELL OUT TO LARGE NATIONAL DELIVERY COMPANIES, INSTEAD HE SOURCES THE VERY BEST OF LOCAL PRODUCE FROM AS NEAR TO EACH KITCHEN AS POSSIBLE AND HAS BUILT SOME FANTASTIC RELATIONSHIPS WITH GREAT LOCAL ARTISAN SUPPLIERS FROM MEAT TO FLOUR IT IS ALL VERY CAREFULLY SOURCED.
