Matt Lord – The Bristol Hotel

After training at The Arkle restaurant at The Chester Grosvenor, Bank Birmingham and New Hall Hotel, Matt spent four years as sous chef for Steven Blake at The Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath.

He then spent two years at Hunstrete House where he achieved 2 AA rosettes and in 2008 moved to City Cafe at Mint Hotel (formerly City Inn) where he held 2 AA rosettes.

Matt then spent a year at Charlton House in Somerset before returning to Bristol as Head Chef at The Bristol Hotel.

Matt believes in sourcing great ingredients and that it is the key to great cooking.  He believes that the South West has some of the best suppliers in the country!
