We are currently recruiting for a Senior Sous chef for an exciting and diverse role across the outside catering and restaurant business.

Outline role:

This role provides an excellent opportunity for a creative and passionate chef professional to get a wide range of experience and variety across both our outside catering events and successful family restaurant. The successful applicant will take charge of the kitchen on our events and be responsible for delivering the best possible event catering and restaurant food. The position will be based at our main catering site at Ballihoo Restaurant, Lower Mill Estate, Somerford Keynes, near Cirencester. They will be working alongside our head production chef and central team.

In the region of 95% of food produced is freshly made in house and then transported to event site for finishing by our events team to provide an exceptional level of quality and freshness.

At the restaurant the menu will change with the season and available produce. The restaurant is set within 550 acres of wilderness with access to wild game, fish and availability of land to raise livestock or grow your own vegetables, herbs etc. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and focussed chef to work within a small team to produce fantastic food in an incredible environment with a brand new kitchen and restaurant.

inline_451_http://thechefsforum.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Mcbaile-gallery5-300x200.jpgThe Sous Chef position is physically demanding but incredibly rewarding with the opportunity to work in an ever changing environment across the country, from grand Manor houses to a marquee on a private beach to a pop up kitchen in a high rise office block it is often challenging, but always fun… Working alongside the Head Chef, events and restaurant teams, the Senior Sous Chef will be responsible for day to day management of production and support staff, suppliers and equipment needed to produce and fulfil the diverse range of events that are required by our clients. Requirements vary widely depending on each particular event and circumstance but are thoroughly communicated to the kitchen team in advance through regular team meetings and event sheets. This event diversity, paired with the consistency and regularity of the restaurant pass, provides a unique opportunity for development and experience across the breadth of the industry.

 This role may suit a candidate with solid private dining/personal chef experience or a competent senior sous chef who wants to get out from behind the pass all day to take on the next career challenge.

  • £24-28,000 p.a. starting salary dependant on experience

  • Uniform and knives provided
  • 5 days over 7 day week including weekends
